Honoring Our Veterans
Honoring our veterans is more than saying thank you – it means showing up for them when they come home. I am fighting for the benefits veterans have earned, making sure they have access to care, housing, and education. To everything we can to prevent the next generation from being sent to war without cause.
Too many veterans return home only to be failed by the same government that sent them overseas. I’ll fight to fully fund the VA, expand access to mental health care, and make sure those exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances get the treatment they need without red tape or delay.
We also need to make sure no veteran is sleeping on the street. I support strengthening the VA Home Loan program, expanding housing vouchers, and improving case management so veterans can actually access stable housing. The recent VA Home Loan Program Reform Act – which passed with bipartisan support – is a good step forward, we need to make strides on other fronts to lower the price of housing
I’ll also work to expand access to GI Bill benefits, job training programs, and ensure veterans have support navigating disability claims and VA bureaucracy. Our veterans should be able to transition into civilian life with dignity – whether that means enrolling in college, starting a business, or getting the medical care they need without endless loops.
But we can’t keep repeating history. The best way to support our combat veterans is to stop creating more of them through endless, unnecessary wars. I believe we should never again send Americans to fight based on false pretenses. My foreign policy will be based on diplomacy – not in what boosts defense contractor profits.
Veterans deserve care, housing, opportunity, and above all, honesty. We owe them a country that learns from its mistakes – and I’ll fight for them as they have fought for us.

Honrar a nuestros veteranos va más allá de decir “gracias”, significa estar presentes para ellos cuando regresan a casa. Estoy luchando por los beneficios que nuestros veteranos se han ganado, asegurando que tengan acceso a atención médica, vivienda, educación, y haciendo todo lo posible para evitar que una nueva generación sea enviada a la guerra sin justificación.
Demasiados veteranos regresan a casa solo para ser abandonados por el mismo gobierno que los envió al extranjero. Voy a luchar para financiar completamente el VA, ampliar el acceso a servicios de salud mental, y asegurar que quienes fueron expuestos a toxinas como pozos de combustión, Agente Naranja, reciban el tratamiento que necesitan sin retrasos ni burocracia. Ken Calvert votó en contra de protecciones para estos veteranos. Yo no lo haré.
También debemos asegurarnos de que ningún veterano duerma en la calle. Apoyo el fortalecimiento del programa de préstamos para vivienda del VA, la expansión de vales de vivienda y la mejora en el manejo de casos para que los veteranos puedan acceder verdaderamente a un hogar estable. La reciente Ley de Reforma del Programa de Préstamos para Vivienda del VA, que fue aprobada con apoyo bipartidista, es un buen paso adelante. Ahora necesitamos avanzar en otros frentes para reducir el costo de la vivienda.
Trabajaré para ampliar el acceso a los beneficios del GI Bill, programas de capacitación laboral, y brindar apoyo real para que los veteranos puedan navegar el proceso de reclamaciones por discapacidad y la burocracia del VA. Nuestros veteranos deben poder hacer su transición a la vida civil con dignidad, ya sea inscribiéndose en la universidad, empezando un negocio, o recibiendo la atención médica que necesitan sin caer en círculos interminables.
No podemos seguir repitiendo la historia. La mejor manera de apoyar a nuestros veteranos de combate es dejar de crear más veteranos a través de guerras innecesarias y sin fin. Creo que nunca más deberíamos enviar estadounidenses a pelear por motivos falsos. Mi política exterior estará basada en la diplomacia, no en lo que aumente las ganancias de contratistas de defensa.
Los veteranos merecen atención médica, vivienda, oportunidades y, sobre todo, honestidad. Les debemos un país que aprenda de sus errores y yo lucharé por ellos como ellos lucharon por nosotros.
